Our Kittens - Next Litter Due Dec. 31st
All kittens from Snow Tundra are registered with TICA. We require a deposit to reserve a kitten of your choice from one of our next litters. The deposit is non-refundable, as we keep the kitten for you for 13 weeks, feed the kitten, purchase litter for the kitten, bring it to the vet at least 2 times for their vet wellness check, 2 sets of 3 way shots, their spay/neuter surgery, microchip, and spend lots of hours socializing the kittens so you get the sweet, loving, playful kitten that will be the adaptable next member of your family.
Our kittens are well socialized, not caged, born and raised in our home, have A 2 year health guarantee, have had their 2 sets of shots. Our breeding cats are all health tested for HCM yearly and are negative. They are also tested for PK Deficiency and Bengal PRA (Progressive Retinal Atrophy) because these are all things Bengal Cats are prone to getting. There is a reason why quality Bengal Cats are more costly than just any Bengal Cat.
We provide ongoing support and communication from Snow Tundra.
Who We Are
We are a small cattery located in Lisbon Falls, Maine about twenty minutes from L.L.Bean. We have been breeding Bengals for 19 years and have kittens regularly throughout the year. We have reached a point in our lives where we are able to spend the time and money on a bengal cattery we decided to start dedicated to the betterment of the bengal breed. The health of our bengal cats is our first priority. We do no have or breed any early generation Bengal cats. Our cats are all SBT’s or domestic Bengal cats at least 5 generations and up from their origins.
The Breed
The Bengal is a relatively new breed of cat which was first bred in the U.S.A and was originally created by crossing an Asian Leopard Cat with a domestic cat. Asian leopard cats are small wild felines living throughout Asia from Russia and japan to Indonesia. Their coat, always spotted or rosetted vary from grey to yellowish. They have a wide range of habitat from mountains (up to 3000m elevation) to forest or grasslands, the only mandatory requirement being the presence of water. They prey on rodents, birds, reptiles, insects and fish.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why is the Cost So High?
The cost of our kittens starts at $1,700 for our brown rosetted kitten. Our silver and Snow Bengal kittens are $2,000. A kitten I would keep myself to show is considerably more and would start at $3,000, because this kitten would have to fit the breed standard almost perfect.
Our breeding cats are all health tested for HCM yearly and are negative. They are also tested for PK Deficenecy and Bengal PRA (Progressive Retinal Atrophy) because these are all things Bengal Cats are prone to getting. There is a reason why quality Bengal Cats are more costly than just any Bengal Cat.
What Should I Look For?
Be very careful, and do your research on the breed and the breeder before purchasing a Bengal Kitten. It is a good idea to go to the cattery and visit the cattery where the cats are raised and see the adult breeding cats and the parents of the kittens before making a purchase. Do not be fooled by pictures of cute kittens or scams online because there are many of them.
